About

Our patron Late Shrimathi Kalavathi Rajamanickam was the inspiration behind establishment of Praghna Centre for Research and our journal Electronic Journal of Social and Strategic Studies. She believed in the cause of education for all and pursuit of knowledge through research. She encouraged and actively participated in the programs and activities of Praghna Centre for Research. It was at her instance that Praghna Centre instituted two research prizes for best research papers in history/political science and socio-cultural studies. These prizes are awarded annually on 07 Jun during the anniversary celebration of Praghna centre. She joined the anniversary programs to convey her encouragement and blessings to the students/researchers who participated and received the prizes. 

Our patron attained sadgati on 14 Sep 2025. In honour of her memory, her zeal to acquire knowledge and her committment to promote research, we are happy to dedicate this library in her name.

Get to know our library

In order to make knowledge available to students, emerging scholars and academia, Praghna is happy to announce yet another initiative now. We have created this digital repository with papers/articles published by the following institutions and individuals:

1. Electronic Journal of Social and Strategic Studies (EJSSS) – an Open Access, peer reviewed, indexed journal published by Praghna Centre.

2. Papers and articles written by Dr R Srinivasan, Founder-Director of Praghna.

3. Articles published by Chennai Centre for Research (C3S), a leading think tank focused on China Studies.

4. AFRICA4U, a bimonthly newsletter published by TrendsNAfrica, a leading Africa centered newsletter that is associated with FICCI.

What can you do in the library?

1. This repository has a facility to search by author name, title, doi or simply with keywords.

2. You can access scholarly content just by clinking the link in the tables that you see in any page.

3. Take notes from the articles and papers you read.

3. Auto-Create citations in APA 6th edition style.

4. Save your notes and citation in a Notepad doc.

Note

We hope academia, researchers and students will use this facility to enrich their knowledge and further their research endeavors. We have only one request – give credit to each work that you may consult or download, if you use their content to fortify your analysis. Yes, we strongly recommend using APA 6th edition style to provide such citations.
